Frequently asked questions about MesterKontroll
No. Searching, the price estimator, messaging and posting a job are all free for customers. The fee you agree with the tradesperson is settled directly between the two of you.
A one-off registration fee of HUF 990 (incl. VAT) - everyone pays this, including those who register through an invitation link. In return, EVERYONE gets 12 months of free visibility in search; for early joiners we extend this up to 24 months. During this time there is no monthly fee at all, and we never take a commission from your jobs. After the 12 months you can choose a monthly subscription plan: Basic HUF 4,990/month (search visibility), Featured HUF 7,990/month (+ higher ranking and a badge), Premium HUF 11,990/month (+ reporting module) - cancel anytime; the current price list is always available in the Portal's Subscription menu.
The token amount does two things. It covers the ongoing cost of tax-number verification, hosting and development - without advertising or selling data - and it filters out, right at the door, anyone not registering as a genuine business. Ultimately that protects you, the customer, with a more reliable pool of tradespeople.
Tradespeople provide their tax number at registration, which the system checks against the Hungarian tax authority (NAV) register, and they also make a legal declaration that their details are accurate.
When the work is finished, the tradesperson submits a completion certificate with photo documentation, which the customer approves using a one-time code. This is also what the public review is based on.
You can search by trade and by town, check their availability status and their reviews - which are based on previous, publicly verified jobs. Alternatively you can post a job, and matching tradespeople will send you quotes.
MesterKontroll is not an escrow service and takes no part in the payment. The agreed fee is settled directly between customer and tradesperson, however you agreed (cash, bank transfer and so on).
Yes. Chat messages are stored encrypted, and only the two participants in the conversation - the customer and the tradesperson - can access them.
Both parties approve the contract with a one-time code received by e-mail. That is an identified, auditable digital signing process, and the approved document can be downloaded at any time as a real PDF. The precise legal classification always depends on the circumstances of the specific transaction.
Yes, at any time from the Subscription menu. Your trial period and any period you have already paid for stay valid until they expire; only the automatic renewal stops.
Bought or fake reviews are not possible. Only a customer with a closed completion certificate, approved by both parties, can leave a review.
Yes. Tradespeople specify at registration which towns and regions they take work in, and search works nationwide on that basis.
Yes - it is available as an Android and iOS app with the same features as the browser Portal, so you can handle your jobs, messages and notifications on the move.
By bank card, through Barion - a licensed, secure payment provider - directly inside the Portal. This applies only to fees payable to the platform; the fee you agree with the tradesperson is separate and settled between you.
The customer can dispute the completion certificate with a reason. In that case it does not take effect, and the parties resolve the matter primarily between themselves, or if necessary through the dispute resolution route set out in the contract (for example the conciliation board).
